Camera wasn’t useable honest out of the box. Camera wasn’t dependable i.e. GPS had to be continually reset, camera wouldn’t turn on or rancid consistently. Camera wasn’t recognised by computer in view of the fact that of it’s non-gathering. Had to continually take out Memory Card and Array to reset camera. Camera would turn on and record one minute, but at that calculate it wouldn’t sort out whatever thing. A very frustrating encounter. Wasn’t able to aid the camera for two weeks, as a result sent back to Contour for a substitution. Contour Customer benefit is very responsive and want you to have a excellent encounter with their product. It possibly best to wait for the next bring up to date as a result that Contour can address and manipulate the problems. I would also suggest that prospective buyers visit the Contour website to assess other customer concerns and problems prior to their hold.
Received substitution camera and it’s effective fantastic. Must have had a lemon camera. Be sure to carry a following charged array with you at all times. By the High Classification figure eats the array juice after 1 hour of recording. Picture quality and sound is incredible.

|Fantastic, but…,
Being my first helmet cam, I can only rate my encounter as a first timer:
The excellent:
a) Sturdy, well built.
b) Excellent video quality.
c) Figure packed (GPS, iPhone and Android support, alignment lasers, etc).
The terrible:
a) Array life seems very small. I own two batteries, and even at that calculate I end them very promptly.
b) The power button is a morsel hard to push. WHen skying, even after taking the gloves rancid, I would have to fight the button. On the excellent feature, it’s this way as a result that it doesn’t just turn rancid by mix.
c) Mounts are hard to slide into the camera. Again, this is as a result that it doesn’t slide out by chance, but still, it took me hours to take out a helmet mount, and I felt I would break the camera.
Other than those points, Contour seems to be actively humanizing the firmware and features. Now they have the underwater casing (which took them a long calculate to release).
Video quality is ok. By default it’s set to some super compressed plot, which just doesn’t look fantastic. I first used it out of the box on a ski dive and the video looked very blocky (typical jpeg compression issues) and it was not until later that I saw it had to be connected to the computer to bring up to date the video quality and settings. It allows you to have two sets of settings on the camera, assigned to a switch on the back.
Overall I’m pleased with the product and quality, but I did have to accept the limitations mentioned above.

Video quality is fantastic for design limitations. Indoor video capture is better than expected. GPS documentation is surrounded by anticipated accuracy limitations. Product software (Storyteller application) might be best described as a beta test with regard to the Macintosh user. Given the target audience I would highly recommend the manufacturer invest extra resources in humanizing this software wrap. The built-in Bluetooth and a mobile App to turn your phone into a wireless viewfinder is distinctly sticky. Perhaps the newest firmware bring up to date will resolve some of the issues, but I cannot recommend this belt at this calculate . At that calculate again, it is cheap enough that you may choose to hold this belt just for enjoyable and to to give the manufacturer incentive to conduct additional development (that’s what I did, even if I read a hardly any unenthusiastic reviews).
Bottom line: The Contour GPS camera is value the money for anyone desiring–or as in my case needing–to document events involving action and point locations. You would have to spend a fantastic transact business extra money to get a camera that can sort out what the Contour GPS does, and sort out it better.
Regarding the product bundle with the superfluous array and memory card, you need only check the prices to know this is well value it. The array life is rated for 2-2.5 hours, but if you leave it turned on that is certainly the most you will get. You need an superfluous array. If you sort out high quality recordings you can get about 2 hours on a 16 GB MicroSD card. You may possibly well need an superfluous 16 GB memory card. But, I would recommend any additional MicroSD cards you hold after this bundle be Class 10 (if not helping capture rates, the download rate is nice and quick; but not all manufacturers are equivalent as a result check the reviews).
