Lightweight, excellent viewing vicinity.,
Finally received the Kindle Lighted Leather Take in for the newest translation Kindle. It is VERY lightweight and I had to double and triple check the description considering it states this is a leather take in. The front take in is very thin with a medium-weight cardboard feel to it. The “leather” on the front take in is extremely thin and you can immediately caution the surface will be easily scratched and marred with habitual everyday aid. The inside of the front take in has a thin microfiber notes to protect the screen. The back take in is hollowed out plastic to shape-fit your Kindle and snaps in with relative ease.
By the enclosed graphic instruction card, I removed the Kindle as shown, having to aid just enough pressure to make me a morsel concerned for someone who would place and take out their Kindle in this take in frequently. But, I plot on by this take in as a full-calculate solution for in cooperation protection and as a light source.
I went ahead and pulled up a book and switched the light on, bearing to a closet to see how this looked in complete darkness. The light pulls out of the back take in and is nice and stiff and has a prudent and sound full-out spot. The spread of the light is greater on top observably but it does reach the entire screen on the Kindle. There was thumbs down glare or reflection and I was able to easily read the page without any noticeable straining.
If I were to choose linking this design and the Kindle Keyboard lighted take in, which I have used in view of the fact that its release, I would choose this newer take in. Even if it feels flimsy and “cheap” compared to the Kindle Keyboard lighted take in, it makes up for it with its ease of aid, thumbs down hooks/connectors to worry about and the light “stab” itself seems sturdier than the pull-out plastic flimsy light of the original Kindle Keyboard take in (which, after a year of aid needs to be wiggled at times for the light to come on).
I tried a hardly any attempts at taking a picture of the take in in aid, but my photography skills are certainly gone in view of the fact that all picture I took made a glare from the camera which would not be helpful to anyone.
Pros:
NO batteries to continuously buy or recharge
Sturdy light stab
Lights the entire page
Simple connection
Shape fitted
Cons:
Feels very flimsy and cheap
The take in scratches easily
I plot on editing this assess in a week or two after I go through a couple full Kindle charges to see how well this holds up with regard to array drain.
Check over 12/1:
As a result I’ve go on through two full charges of the Kindle and am effective on my third but sought after to give a have control over’s up on power consumption I’ve seen as a result far. The first charge was approx. 7* hours of reading before I got the “pop-up” message about despondent array. The following charge was just under 8* hours. If I notice a dramatic change in the next several charges, I’ll check over this again.
*I aid my Kindle with the light on 100% of the calculate, with Wi-Fi turned rancid.
Even though the lighted take in pretty much halves the array life per charge of the Kindle, I am still super pleased with the fact that I am not spending money on any superfluous batteries. The amount of reading calculate it allows is extra than enough linking charges considering I usually don’t read extra than an hour or as a result a day, which allows me to go around a week linking charges.

|A Step Down In Quality,
I owned a Kindle Keyboard for about a year, and I bought the leather lighted case for that element. While the corner light left a small to be desired as far as even lighting, overall I was very pleased with the case. Based on that encounter, I went ahead and bought the lighted take in for my new Kindle. I can’t say this encounter has as been as positive.
Let’s start rancid with what’s excellent about the case. The Kindle array powered light is a huge improvement. The light is now centered on the screen, as a result explanation is extra even now. I don’t aid the light regularly, but in the suitcases where I sort out it will be nice to have extra balanced coverage. One positive on the case itself is that I appreciate how much lighter this one feels than the previous generation. The hinge vicinity is less vital, which earnings less of the “spine folding” effect the other one took on after heavy aid. I never took my Kindle Keyboard out of the case after it was place in, as a result the snug fit I have seen complaints about is not an issue for me. It IS tight, though, as a result if you don’t plot to keep the case on full calculate be aware it may take some effort to get it back out. In my situation, that tight fit is exactly what I want, but your mileage may vary.
Now on to the negatives. The case does feel very cheap, especially with thumbs down change in price top. The previous take in felt be fond of a solidly through piece of work, whereas the new take in only feels half as sturdy. The fineness of the case was thumbs down doubt done to minimize its weight, as a result I realize this is a personal issue. Outside the thickness, though, it just doesn’t look or feel as well through. The textured surface of the previous model you that leather feel, very much be fond of a real book. Finally, the most stunning oversight is the be deficient in of a closure device. I know some people didn’t be fond of the double-jointed band, but SOMETHING should have been added to allow the case to stay securely closed.
Overall, this is an norm if overpriced case. It’s not terrible, but in comparison to what came before I have to admit I feel be fond of the quality took a step backward me while maintaining a high price top.

|I recieved it today!,
I have had the Kindle Keyboard with it’s lighted take in and now I have the new Kindle with lighted take in. I will briefly compare them and at that calculate list the pros and cons of this take in.
In comparison:
-The kindle keyboard in the take in is much heavier than the new kindle in it’s take in. The new case does a much better job of securing the kindle as well, it is thumbs down longer hinged only on one advantage, but as a substitution for it is shape fit inside of a rigid rubber bombard that attaches to the back of the new kindle
-The lighting is about the constant linking in cooperation suitcases, but where the ancient case lit the screen from the top right corner, the new case lights the screen from the top middle.
-I feel be fond of the ancient light mechanism was extra lasting. The light bar on this take in is through out of very stiff, thin plastic as a substitution for of the thick rubbery plastic that contained the light on the ancient take in. It also hinges open as a substitution for of pulling out of the case, and the hinge feels subpar.
-The light on the new case is less angled and tends to get in my eyes extra when reading than the ancient kindle keyboard case did.
All in all I still be fond of the new case. It fits of laughter the new kindle very well and does not boost the size or weight very much. The leather is somewhat thin but not horribly as a result and it looks sleek on the kindle. I will be maintenance this case.
Pros:
Compact case that looks very sleek
Tight and secure fit
Uses the Kindle‘s batteries as a result thumbs down additional power is needed.
Provides adequate lighting across the entire screen.
Cons:
Lightbar hinge seems very cheap.
In view of the fact that I only received this today, I cannot yet evaluate the additional drain that this case will place on the Kindle‘s array. I will bring up to date after I’ve gone through a hardly any charges.
P.S. – I’d be fond of to add that people complaining about the availability / delay in shipping of this product need to stop. It does not at all reflect the quality of the device, yet all of the unenthusiastic ratings based on delayed shipments make the product look horrible when it is in fact very nice.
